The check is verified by screening it through several databases and fraud detection systems. Once the check passes a sophisticated risk assessment it is authorized at the point of sale. The funds are then electronically deposited into the merchant’s bank account in 2-3 business days. Eliminates the risk of accepting checks. Applies to Guaranteed Conversion and QSP.

Electronic Conversion

All conversions include verification screening against a national negative database. Merchants receive payment quickly via electronic deposit of the funds into their bank account. The check is electronically transferred from the point of sale. No wasted time and labor taking paper checks to the bank.

Equipment Flexibility

Operates on almost all credit card terminals with a check reader or imager attached. A web based virtual terminal can be used in place of a physical terminal. Multiple virtual terminals/gateways are supported. (See Compatibility Sheet for options.)

Online Reporting

TeleCheck Electronic Check Acceptance (ECA)®

TeleCheck brings the power and convenience of electronic check commerce to the point-of-sale with the TeleCheck Electronic Check Acceptance (ECA)® Service. This digital process allows merchants to accept checks as quickly, safely and easily as credit cards while improving the cash flow of their business.

Here's how it works. The business authorizes the consumer's check through TeleCheck using the Eclipse payment terminal or other ECA-certified point-of-sale terminal. Once the transaction is approved, the clerk gives the check writer a printed receipt for signature. The check writer's signature allows TeleCheck to electronically present the transaction to the check writer's bank for settlement and that money is then automatically deposited in the business's bank account.
